Hi, all.

I have a male about 12 months old and a female about 10 months old.

First question - are they old enough for breeding?

Second question - what shaped breeding box should I use?

Third question - what month is it best to introduce the breeding box in Melbourne?

Thanks

Leigh

hello & w3c to the site Leigh,

the best way for you to learn about looking after your birds is for you to search the site for the answers yourself using the quick search tab to the left <--------. there is so much information that can be found here. angel

hi Tahi!

w3c on board!
as matt says, there's heaps of info on the site, and search feature works great. For instance to find questions/answers about breeding age, just type age and you'll get many returns. Additionally, don't be afraid to bump an old thread if there's something related to the thread that you would like to ask.
And don't forget to take a look at the Gallery, remember an image is worth 1000 words, and you'll be able to see how some of the guys here do their stuff.

Some breeders in Europe and NZ (Oz maybe too?) breed at any stage. In fact some of them leave the nest all year round and the birds seem to pace themselves.

Good luck!

Pablo

Hi Leigh your birds are old enough. You need to put 2 boxes in now. My boxes are about 300mm(h)x250mmx250mm wide. By the time they are used to the boxes they will be ready. You will find they will sleep in the boxes as well. Probably 1 in each box. Cheers Kev
