Hi
I have a pair of gold cinnamon Kaki's. They have had their first lot of eggs. We waiting past the time of when the eggs should of hatch, but when we checked the eggs they are clear. There is nothing in them. She did all the right things. OR so we thought. She was sitting on them, only coming out for short intervals.
We have been told that this often happens with the first and sometimes second clutch. Can anyone tell me what their experience has been. Thanks!

Cheers

Hi
I too have a pair of yellow fronted Kaks that have a nice clutch of ten eggs, and every one is clear. So I have not wasted the opportunity to place six fertile red crowned kak eggs under her, she is sitting the eggs well and they are due to hatch in a couple of days. I watched the pair of yellow's mate and they feed each other every day, the one thing I did notice was the cock bird has long toe nails so he might not of been able to hang on long enough to mate successfully, I have since trimmed the toe nails of the cock bird and I will let them rear the red fronted chicks and hopefully they will have another go at reproducing themselves. Applause

do you have trouble identifying your actual pair when the chicks are grown up? or can you just tell? i read somewhere it is best to put one of those rings around the babies foot because they will soon be hard to tell apart from the parents is this correct?
