Weve had a lot a few univited visitors recently...

this has been here 5 times today, possibly a young inexperienced bird getting very hungry?

and a few ays ago a kestrel in the same spot and possibly a merlin but not sure as that one was pretty quick, just saw the silhouette as it dissapeared.

I have a few pics like that on our cctv signlol
nice avarary...a suggestion, practical and appearance, get a good sized branch, a good 3" in diam and about 2/3 the inside width of the flight with a generous fork in it and hung horozontally.
the best way to hang is drill 3 holes and a bit of #8 wire in the holes and bent over, the other end wraped around a self taping screw.
And another branchabout 1" diam about 20/25" long and hung off the front wire so the birds have soething to sit on in the sun and can come down for treats and stuff.
And paint (water based) the mesh black or very dark brown with a small foam roller, and advoid hanging drops of paint ...a brush picks these up.
U can 'test' the effectiviveness of this, get a felt tip pen and black uot a bit in the middle about 3"x 4".
And I like the way it is wide rather than deep...excellent disply flight, far more inter active

Thanks steps, this is actually our canary aviary we just occasionally have a pair of breeding kaks in. We have about 9 kaks in another aviary and they do get more sun there, have to take some photos soon.
