Hi everyone
I am looking to get a hand-reared Kakariki as a pet bird. I live in Melbourne, Australia, does anyone know a good breeder that I could contact? Preferably I'd like a female, green with a red cap (sorry, I don't know the technical term!) - but that said - as long as it's a healthy and happy bird, I can give it a loving home.
I've seen some in pet shops but they look very stressed and I'm not sure how I feel about supporting such a place, although I'm tempted to just for the bird's sake...
Contact a Aussie member here Cattscapes (Keven) he is in NSW.
He is a top breeders and excellent reputation.
Kakarki ship very well nps.
Yes it is very refreshing to see someone do their homework, not pick up suspect birds from a pet shop then end up with a dud bird , but fallen in 'love' with and spend a fortune on vet fees ...on a species of bird that is one of the hardest in the world.
From freezing snow to long hot summers, eat anything and everything, lives in jungle to open paddocks. _________________ My Spelling is Not Incorrect...It's 'Creative'
