Any help would be much appreciated....

As I said above I think Eddie is a bit confused, being a boy bird he's going to get 'urges' i suppose you could call them, but he keeps tring to hump my foot!! Anyone got any advice?! When he's out of his cage he's free to roam the house, but if i'm sat watching TV he's usually with me and after a while does a little dance around my feet, bobs his head up and down - he actually looks like he's doing a chicken walk - while walking in semi-circles, and sometimes a figure of 8, so i'll lift my foot up so just my heel is on the floor to get them out of his way cause he's been known to nibble socks and toes, and eventually after 10/15 min he'll jump on my foot and begins to wiggle his bum around. Obviously i don't let it go any way and flick my foot up sending him flying. But he likes this so comes back and does it again, and again and again till something else takes his interest. I've tried leaving my foot flat on the floor, he still does it, lifting them in the air, he still does it.

It's actually qute funny, but he's started trying to do it to my mum's knee when he's sat on her, and we've caught him 'in the act' with a a small teddie about his size.

The thing is i'm not sure if this is normal behaviour or not as he's the only Kakariki i have or have ever had and he's had his problems in the past, namely - Lead Poinsoning, we found him on the bottom of the cage so docile i picked him up and put him under my jumper to keep him warm while we took him to the vets, and when we got him home from the vets a week later he had a relapse and was rushed back to the vets fitting. the vet had to give him CAT VALLIUM to stop the fits or there was a risk of brain damage and him dying, and he's been a little loopyer since.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated

Oh also, his feet change clour from a dark pale brown, to pink, and motled in between - any ideas? his feet seem warm when pink and cold when brown - the pet shop doesn't have a clue and says i shouldn't happen but shouldn't worry about it.

Hi Karona,

This is normal as our male Kakariki does (or used to until his illness) every day. We bought a female Kakariki friend and that is his little teddy now.

Sadly our Bertie is very ill at the moment, and if you could shed any light back, that would be greatly appreciated. Please see... http://www.parrot-link.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26929

Best regards,

Will
