Hello again,

So I have been able to pop my boy and girl in the same cage. They haven't had any tussles in a couple of days, but still stay away from each other for now.
My boy has started making clicking sounds with his beak, and I have seen written all over the internet that there is beak clicking and tongue clicking, and I was just wondering if someone could explain to me the difference in sound? (I know why they do each type of clicking.)

The reason I ask is because whenever I get close to the cage he goes very quiet.

Thank you in advance!

The clicking...beak or tongue... to be honest over all the decades never have given a thought as to how it is done....
What it means
Well he is indicating that he like the look of her....and I belive the clicking, and think he does to, will stimulate some hormone response from her... maybe..
So watch for sticking her tail up, and maybe a few squeaky sounds....then him feeding her.
To accelerate the process , a couple nesting boxes, which he may approve of, invite her in, and if she likes, they move on from there.

Note: 2 nesting boxes will eventually be needed, and best results to have both initially rather than add one later .. but before chicks develop/ start to sprout ANY coloured feathers

That makes me very happy to hear that he is interested in her, as whenever she chases him (I say chases because I simply don't have a better word for what she is doing signlol), he just runs/flies away. signlol

She hasn't done any of her little noises (she used to a lot before we got him) and sticking her tail up since he's been in the cage (that we know of) so I hope she likes him. If not, that isn't a worry. They can just be friends :)

And thank you for the advice about the nesting boxes!
