Hi,

I have a number of yellow red-fronts. They are not lutinos as they have dark eyes. They also have just a small amount of green by the eye, or on the chin. What is this colour/mutation called? Is it a form of pied? Just curious, as I'm trying to figure out what to mate them to this season.

Hello Mads,

Your birds are recessive pied. The dark eyes are typical for this mutation. Combined with other pied mutations they can be 100% pied(completely yellow).
